NSIC in association with SBC sets up India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), in association with Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) of South Korea has set-up an India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre (IKTEC) at NSIC’s Technical Service Centre at Okhla, here.

 

NSIC has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SBC (Now known as KOSME), South Korea for enhancing cooperation between Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of both the countries.

 

Under IKTEC platform, MSMEs from both India and Korea will be assisted to identify and exchange latest technologies, Machineries, Product development, Technology applications for productive development and share management expertise etc. amongst themselves.

 

The objective is to facilitate technology exchange between MSMEs from both the nation, thus, enhancing their competitiveness in the global market by synergising their competitive advantages.

 

The IKTEC will focus on Business Matching to encourage Technology transfers, Joint ventures and sustainable alliances between Indian and Korean SMEs, Create Technology Data Bank of Potential technology seekers and technology providers from each country, Conduct Technology Demand Analysis of each country and identify promising sectors for technology exchange, Conduct a diagnosis of technology level problems, enterprise’s capability of absorbing advanced technology and commercial feasibility on demand on chargeable basis, Encourage production of high quality products which are globally competitive, Identify and initiate various cooperative MSME projects complimenting each other’s strengths in MSME sector.

 

NSIC has also launched a portal (www.iktec.in) on this occasion to assist MSMEs from both sides to upload their requirements of technology offer or technology request from each other’s country.

 

In order to encourage utilisation of services of India Korea Technology Centre by MSMEs and initiate linkages with Korean counterparts, NSIC has invited interest of Indian companies in the attached format.

 

”Focus industries are Auto components, solar energy, light engineering, food processing, electrical & electronics, mechatronics, Textiles etc. However, enterprises from other fields are also invited,” NSIC said.
