Federation of Indian Associations Chicago elects Sunil Shah as Chairman

Sunil Shah, the Federation of Indian Associations of Chicago’s founding president, was named chairman of the board during a virtual meeting of the community organisation on Jan. 5 for his many achievements and committed devotion to the community organisation.

The Federation of Indian Associations of Chicago is a non-profit umbrella group that represents more than 300,000 different but united Asian-Indians throughout the Midwest. For Indian Republic Day, Indian Independence Day, and Diwali, the association celebrates numerous events that bring all Asian-Indians together and works with local, state, and national agencies to protect the interests of all Asian-Indians in the domains of immigration, social welfare, and commerce.

Shah was nominated for the award by Mukesh Shah, a founding member of the Federation of Indian Associations of Chicago. Rita Singh, Neil Khot, and Hitesh Gandhi seconded the motion, which was subsequently backed by Gurmeet Dhalwaan, Keerthi Reevori, Suresh Bodiwala, Vinita Gulabani, Pratibha Jairath, Ashwani Mahajan, Mir Ali, Abir Maru, Richa Chand, Pika Munshi, Neelam Jai, and the rest of the team.

By a majority vote, the motion was approved unanimously.
