Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Ltd, has been named as the new Chair of the International Zinc Association (IZA). Mr. Misra was selected as the new Chair by IZA Executive Committee recently, with a final vote planned by IZA’s Board of Directors in October.
Mr. Misra expressed his gratitude for being voted to the position and stated that he looked forward to assisting IZA in its efforts to develop long-term zinc markets and ensure the industry’s licence to operate.
“It is a privilege for me to take on the role of IZA Chair and continue the tradition of excellence of those who came before me. The IZA has an exceptional team of professionals and I look forward to working together to grow global demand for zinc and promoting its essentiality to human health, crop nutrition, sustainable development, and modern life,” he said.
Dr. Andrew Green, IZA’s Executive Director, stated, “Arun Misra has been a strong supporter of IZA’s work around the world, particularly in India. His leadership and experience will be invaluable to us, and I am looking forward to working with him to help IZA and the zinc sector navigate the global possibilities and challenges that lie ahead. I’d also like to express my gratitude to Marie Inkster, our previous Chair, for her exceptional direction and assistance over the last year.”
