Please take us through your professional journey since inception and some major milestones achieved over the years.
Rajiv Jain. My professional journey in the trade of Gems & Jewellery began in 1987 with a company called “Vikas”. Thereafter, from the year 1989 to 2001, I was Promoter Director at “Vaibhav Gems” which later became “Vaibhav Global Limited”. In the year 2001, I started “Sambhav Gems Limited” where I hold the post of CMD. The company is into manufacturing & exporting a wide range of exotic gemstones in different cuts & exquisite Jewelry.
During all these years, I have worked towards the development of the Gems & Jewellery trade and have held several key positions & offices:
- Chairman: Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India( GJEPC)
- Vice President & Secretary: Jewellers Association, Jaipur
- Director: International Colour Gemstones Association, USA
Your shows have gained recognition creating an enduring experience for business visitors over the years. What’s next for JJS 2023?
Rajiv Jain. It is this increasing presence of buyers and quality visitors that has given JJS recognition and success, exhibitor numbers have gone up multiple times and JJS has become a much sought-after event in the Gem & Jewellery Industry. JJS2023 will see the booth count crossing 1000 booths, an exclusive B2B trade pavilion – PINK CLUB which is created for B2B customers, live jewellery-making craftsmanship by artisans will be displayed under Jaipur Jewellery Design Festival(JJDF). As a regular feature of the show, this year too, JJS will felicitate 10 women achievers pan India in a ceremony that will be organised as a part of the activity under the Jaipur Jewellery Design Festival.
Jaipur Jewellery Show for this year too has a theme- Emerald. To promote Emerald, a group of support members will be formed as the Emerald Promotion Group with GEMFIELDS as the prime emerald promotion partner. There have been a lot of activities planned around this theme of emerald promotion which will unfold during the course of the year.
How did your last edition of the show do in terms of visitor registrations, exhibitor bookings and orders?
Rajiv Jain. JJS2022 was a grand success in terms of visitor registration, number of exhibitors & overall business. Highlights of the show were 900+ booths, 550 exhibitors, 45000+ domestic & International visitors.
What would you say to the industry if you had one message and one piece of advice to give?
