Tourism took a significant stride towards fostering bilateral tourism ties with
India by formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Outbound
Tours Operators Association of India (OTOAI). The MOU was ceremoniously signed
on the 22nd of February 2024 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, during
the prestigious SATTE event in Delhi.
The signing ceremony, graced by the President of OTOAI, Mr. Riaz Munshi, Vice
President Mr. Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary Mr. Sidharth Khanna, and
Treasurer Mr. Gurdeep Singh Gujral, marked a pivotal moment in the
collaboration between Malaysia and OTOAI. The event showcased the commitment of
both entities to fortify their partnership for the mutual benefit of their
respective members.
Under the terms of this MOU, Malaysia and OTOAI pledge to work collaboratively,
focusing on joint activities and initiatives that promote the growth of tourism
between the two nations. This strategic partnership aims to facilitate seamless
travel experiences, enhancing the overall appeal of Malaysia as a preferred
destination for Indian tourists.
Mr. Riaz Munshi, President of OTOAI, expressed enthusiasm about the
collaboration, stating, “This MOU symbolizes a new chapter in the
relationship between Malaysia and OTOAI. We are dedicated to leveraging our
collective strengths to create unparalleled opportunities for our members and
contribute to the growth of tourism between our two nations.”
